From the time we are born through to the time we return to Spirit, we have dreams. Some of them are frivolous, product of where we are in the moment. Others are true, genuine dreams. What we want to accomplish, who we want to be, and how well we will live. What happens to our dreams? Do they disappear? Are they forgotten? Do they see fruition and thrive?
Recently I read the book; “The Map” – finding the Magic and Meaning in the Story of your life, Colette Baron-Reid. She encourages you to take stock of your life and journey through your memories accessing places where you have been. But not in the form or reality of what you would think. Through colorful, mythical imagery, the author weaves you through your life’s path with landscapes, tricksters, and spirits. Tapping into your psychological terrain, your subconscious, to revisit where you have been, what you learned, what went wrong and where to go next.
We all have a direct link to the Universe, to Spirit, to the Divine. Everyday we send out messages, questions, and requests through the energy of thought and voice. Our dreams are floating around in the atmosphere as energy. You may have forgotten them, restructured the ideas, or ran with it. They never disappear, rather they are tended to by the Gentle Gardener, the Divine.
I asked God the question, where am I? and he answered with me standing in the middle of a 4-way stop. The road to the left was highlighted with a bright red arrow. The road to the right, another bright red arrow. The road behind me was gray, with no arrow just a dull white line down the middle. The road in front of me was bright. A white arrow so pure, clean as it glistened in the sunshine. For me, the path is clear. There will be no detours, derailments, shortcuts or sidesteps. For the time I have left there will only be moving forward.
As a part of the book, “The Map”, the author encourages you to visit your subconscious mind and take a trip down memory lane. You now become the mapmaker, the explorer and adventurer who revisits and redefines the landscape you may find yourself in. Throughout our lives we deposit dreams in the universe. Those dreams become energy waiting for us to reach out and take them. Those dreams are a part of our abundant lives, we can help them grow or let the gentle gardener keep them alive until we are ready to build on them.
I find myself at a for way stop. It was clear the only path for me to follow was forward. So now is the time to visit the Field of Dreams. Those dreams of creativity, bringing the world of words, art and wisdom to the front of my path. Dreams of becoming a writer, a painter, and sharing my life’s experiences with others. Time to grow connections with others and share my light with the world.
As I sit here with eyes closed, I can see fields of color. Flowers, trees, bushes blooming in a rainbow of colors. As I walk through the path, I see my dream of becoming Wonder Woman is a tree overflowing with energy and life. There are no magic bracelets, lasso, cape or bright costume. What you see are all the struggles I have surpassed. The hurdles that I jumped and leaped over. The love that I received, given and lost. Each day is a scene of my using superpowers that I didn’t realize I had. The commitments I made to myself and honored. The joy and happiness I shared with friends and family. The small acts of kindness that helped shape people who in turn helped shape the communities they live in.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself entering your Field of Dreams. Is there a dream you would like to revisit? Polish it off and look it with whole new lens. What was so difficult one year ago, maybe more than achievable now. Open your eyes to the abundance that is all around you and what you already have.
Pull out some paper, a journal, sticky notes and ask, where am I? Using colorful imagery picture in your mind where you want to be versus where you are. Was there a goal or an accomplishment you wanted to see realized? Do you believe you are capable of being and doing more with your life? We don’t make mistakes, we create experiences. We learn and grow. Never forget your dreams don’t die or fade away. The Gentle Gardner is tending to your field, all things are possible when you believe.
