Spreading love and light to everyone is a mantra we should all follow. Changing the world, one person at a time has been so often repeated. Human beings apply the ideal of love to intimacy. Something that is shared between two people who enjoy each others company. When the reality is that “Love” is more than a feeling. It is kindness. It is generosity. It is sharing. It is light. When food is shared with those who are hungry, love is being shared. When a door is held for another, love is held as respect. A smile along with a kind word is love passed along to another. Sharing love with everyone is not difficult when you realize that a simple act of kindness will spread love wherever you go.
Trust in a few. It totally amazes me how this one value, trust, is the easiest to break. Most often very innocently. Scheming and scamming people is a skill with an end goal. But trusting others to have your back, protect you in uncomfortable situations, or defend you when you are under attack is an expectation of people that often is not realized. Trusting a few ensures that when help is needed it is there for the taking and sharing thoughts and feelings is protected. But trust also comes with a catch. Trusting in yourself and believing in who you are must come first. If you can’t trust in you, you will never trust anyone else. Following your intuition, seeking your own inner knowledge will help in any situation and maintain trust in others.
Do wrong to none. How often do we cause harm without realizing it. Caroline Myss once said: “Because of you, someone is in counselling.” How is that for an eye opening ha-ha moment! There is more truth to that statement than most people realize. How many times have you unintentionally dismissed someone? Did not take the time to really listen to what they were saying? Became angry and frustrated over something you cannot control and vented that anger unto someone else? Sometimes we do not mean intentional harm, it is a mistake an oversight. The danger of unintentional harm is in the not knowing you have caused it. If you are having a bad day, remember not everyone knows that. Put your smiley face on, push past the negativity and smile. Protect yourself from harm, while protecting others.
William Shakespeare was a great writer in his time. So much so that is writing still resonates today. The message of living well stands today in our world of diversity. To live a life with love, trust and peace is a gift. Use the gift wisely, share love with everyone, trust in yourself, believe in others and do not cause harm to anyone else.
